Destinations

This page will point you to some of the various places I've been to and enjoyed. You'll find links to National Parks, State Parks, Local and City Parks, as well as, botanic gardens and museums (and who knows what else).

Just to give you a quick visual idea of where in the US I've been, the following map shows that I've been to 49 of our 50 US states and hiked at various venues in 27 states.

I'm hoping to do my last state, Alaska, as soon as my husband Bill can travel. He won't do any travel beyond daytrips while we have the dogs (and mostly they come along with us). While I wait for the Alaska trip I've been taking advantage of my retirement to see some new places and do some hiking. In June of 2025 I took a roadtrip with my friend John from Dublin, Ireland and visited Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and we did a quick overnight in Fargo, ND. Then in June of 2026 John came back over and we setup base in Rapid City, SD to do Badlands, Wind Cave and Teddy Roosevelt National Parks, plus Custer State Park where we did the Black Elk Peak hike to the tallest point in SD and also Mt. Rushmore and Spearfish Canyon.

Below are some of the places I've been lucky enough to enjoy during my travels (or locally in and around Ithaca and surrounding areas). I'll be adding additional parks and other places of interest on a continual basis so check back periodically.
